Why Need Extra Curricular Activities?

Balancing education and extra-curricular activities maybe a little too much for young minds, its merits will be realized in later life. The sense of balancing work and life play a crucial role in college life, adulthood and subsequently married life as well. These activities help children while growing up because they learn new skills. It depends on the children which field they want to choose as their favorite because whichever field they will choose; there will be a great scope for learning. For instance, if children learn swimming they will learn surviving skills and a debating society will increase their interpersonal skills to name a few. In later stages, they will also learn team work and fair treatment because the more they mature their learning will increase as well as their understanding.

Exercising control over their life is parents’ first priority because it allows them to find out how they are performing. Their activities should be simplified rather than making the seemingly tuff for them. It is necessary that choice of children should be clearly understood before jumping into the fire. It will be of no use if children are asked to take part in activities that they are not interested in, thus their point of view should be the topmost priority for all parents. They also need to limit the amount of time children spend in such activities so that they can give time to other important chores as well. If children give a helping hand to their siblings or parents, that can also be considered to be a way of judiciously using time.

Education surely changes the thinking, understanding and comprehension of children but an overall development cannot happen in a few days or months. Extra-curricular activities play an important role in their development. It teaches them skills and understanding which education alone cannot teach. Education makes a person change perception, can become broad-minded but it cannot teach everything to them. It can make a person literate but not a risk-taker. The guts to believe in themselves come through experiences and not just education. Extra-curricular activities is equally important for an overall growth in the personality of children, it teaches them things which parents, friends and foes, siblings or relatives cannot teach. Children are innocent lads still, they cannot remain innocent forever. Growth is inevitable and parents need to support their children.

Sports is Important For Children, Is That True?

Sports can tune up children’s reflexes and help them in developing their sixth sense which is of vital importance since it gives crucial help to them during a situation crisis anytime or anywhere. Sports education is a valuable endeavor for children since it helps in getting them an overall development. Physical activities help juveniles to develop social skills and get involved into group conversations. All safety measures as appropriate in each game should be taken for the protection from any kind of injury.

The interest of children in sports starts developing usually between the ages of 5yrs to 6 yrs. In many cases they start getting attracted earlier too. When they are quite young, parents should supervise their sport activities in order to keep a tap on their urge to compete. The ideal way of learning comes through cooperation rather than competition. These activities help children to develop their focus and concentration which is important for anyone’s life in future. Children who are active participants in outdoor activities tend to reduce their chances of having any anxiety, depression, heart diseases and osteoporosis. Ideally any human’s body should be flexible and adaptive to change, if not the stagnancy can pose serious threats in future. After many observations it’s been concluded that physically fit children tend to mature faster into mature adults.

They also reduce their chances of falling ill or suffer from behavioral problems. There are numerous benefits of active participation of children in sports. It provides a healthy growth of muscles and bones, reduces the risk of obesity, improves the sleep pattern which is extremely important, boosts up self-confidence and helps in building social and personal skills like team work, leadership and cooperation. Moreover, if in anyway a sedentary lifestyle takes over due to reasons like Internet games, homework, exams and television, it will have adverse effects on their future and metabolism as well.

Physical growth is good for children; but emotional growth is equally vital for full development. This can occur only with the help of parents and constant guidance teamed up with other experiences children get with time. Parents can motivate their children to be actively involved in sports only by leading an active life themselves, they should be encouraged to walk and ride bicycles rather than getting used to going by a car and they can be encouraged from the sidelines while they are playing on the field as well. Guardians or parents need to set their time limits for sedentary work like homework, studies, indoor entertainment, etc. They also need to be in regular touch with their children’s school teachers in order to know their progress in the overall personality. It all depends on the way parents take care of their children and how much children want to improve themselves, rest everything depends on mutual understanding and the zeal for success.

The Essential of Discipline

Good habits don’t come so easily and discipline is one among them. In today’s modern world where people don’t have time for their family, bringing up children in a good environment is getting costlier and difficult as well.

Schools educate children for their bright future; while parents try to groom them in the best possible manner they can in order to give them a life worth living. Obedience is part of discipline which takes years to settle in children’s minds. Words of morality do come out easily but trying to walk on those defined path is as difficult as can be imagined. Children need not be punished every time they don’t obey their elders, be it teachers or parents. Punishment makes children rebellious and hardened which actually brings the opposite effect on them.

They are humans like all other, therefore, children also feel frustrated when they are being humiliated in front of everyone. This will surely piss them off and subsequently they will oppose every other decision taken for them. Parents and teachers need to work with harmony at all times, thrashing or scolding should be minimal and in a few cases is permitted as well if they aren’t trying to understand the instructions given to them. At home the usual scenes seen are that children after being scolded by them run and hide themselves in the attic or in any kind of hidden room where they can find some solace. Such acts can lead to the liking for isolation among them which in turn will be harmful for their future.

Children need to be guided in the right direction following the right means in order to keep from feeling bitter towards anyone, teachers or parents for that matter. Orthodox methods of teaching and training do exist even today but aren’t of any use because it develops animosity in them which converts in to blind hatred. Hatred destroys a person on the inside which can lead to harmful results in later life. Teachers and parents need to identify the factors which show signs of disinterest either in class or at home. Lack of interest in attending school, demotiovated about themselves, frustrated about any particular incident, mood swings or depression, jealousy for any particular reasons, bashing and bullying children at school are some of the vital signs which should be a warning sign for both, teachers and parents.

Dealing with children is not everyone’s cup of tea, situations at time do get crucial , in order to handle them in a better manner both teachers and parents to follow a logical and humane approach to make them understand where they were going wrong and what can be the potential result of such acts. Parents should communicate more with their wards to know what they think, sometimes praise them for their work and give children rewards as appropriate to the situation.

On the other hand, children should tell their parents each and every detail in order to get better comments and suggestion for any further action. Parents and teachers should show their trust in them which will boost their morale and confidence to do better. Gradually, while all these steps are followed a mutual understanding between parents, children and teachers should develop resolving all queries and issues regarding their future, although this practice needs to go on for a long period of time. The results will surely be beneficial for the children and both, parents and teachers can also breathe easy.

If you want to make the change at the global level you should act at the local level and it only needs your initiative. If you follow this, then a clean home will lead to clean street, a clean street will lead to clean nation. Dustbin should always be placed in front of the house or in front of each classroom of the school so that child can develop this habit of throwing the things in dustbin and not in other place. Parents should keep in mind that they should always a dustbin in every bedroom and ask their kid to dump arid waste such as paper, old receipts, pencil shavings, chocolate wrappers in the dustbin. Parents also should make their children collect all the thrown away stuffs from the dustbin and throw them in the dumping zone or garbage. Throughout the procedure the kids will also learn the significance of taking care of the environment. If you don’t separate the garbage at the earlier stage, a lot of time, energy and manpower goes into separating garbage later on, and by then a lot of the dry garbage would have been spoilt.

Parents should always try to utilize less plastic stuff and instruct the kids exactly the same. Children in a school are taught by teachers to maintain clean environment and they have one separate subject environment study called EVS also. In this teachers teach about the importance of safe and clean environment and how to maintain it.
